Mrs. Clyde's iTouch Challenge - update

Thanks to all for the comments on my post yesterday.  There were many words of encouragement, which really helped me.  Please know two things:
  1. I hate to lose or be defeated in my goals, especially when I am the one in control.  I can be patient and I can work on setting reasonable expectations...but I tend to get pretty focused on my goals and I hate it when I don't do my best toward those goals. 
  2. I have no intention of giving up on my plan.  But I also don't want to do the same thing every week and expect different results.  
I need to step up my activity now.   My beautiful wife gave me an aggressive goal/challenge to weigh 280 on June 20, 2010.  That means that I have 32 days to lose 17 pounds.  Maybe she wants me healthier.  Maybe she just likes guys on bikes.  Either way, I better get pedaling.

Keep the energy up and the motivation comes easy! Do not focus on the weight so much, just enjoy your activities you are doing on your journey. Its an amazing ride to go from a fat man to a fit man, stay on track :)

All right Clyde...I am not saying this to rub it in or anything...but I got an iPod touch (32GB, 3rd generation) this weekend. Trust me...you WANT this thing...I have been listening to my music, streaming music and playing with apps since I got it. Keep pedaling and you will get there! Stick to the foods that help burn the fat and you will get there. Stay focused on the prize and you will get there.

That's a big goal! But you are a dedicated motivated guy. If anyone can do it, it's gonna be you! Just push your hardest and coming close really is ok, do your best!

Matty: I love your comments...always motivating for me. When I think of my fitness, regardless of the scale, I know I am feeling great.

Sharon and Miss S.: My wife is great and is very supportive of me. I am a blessed man.

Al: Glad you got one! You'll have to tell us what apps you use that could be helpful (or fun!).

Twon: It does seem a tough goal, but I am chasing it, with even more focus now. (I also agree with you...if I come close, I'll still be pretty happy).

Swimmer: I'm considering it...right up my alley and nearby too! Sadly, I know the 92-year-old man that hit several cyclists at the 2008 Tour de Tucson. Also, my friend who hosted the party on Sunday night, was accidentally run off the road by a distracted driver on Saturday. The danger is very real.

Man, I hate losing too. Sure, I act like I don't care, but inside I'm absolutely SEETHING anytime someone's better than me at something. And it happens a lot. So maybe that's why I'm some pissed off jerk most of the time. Hmm.

Dude, beat your wife like a real man. Wow, that sounds AWFUL, but still...beat her good.

Tricia...clearly you don't know my wife. She is a mom of three kids. Moms can be sweet, but you don't want to make them mad.

Clyde you can do this. Remember to focus on your choices daily.

"Will this choice help or hinder the goal I am trying to achieve?"

Woohoo! Somebody sounds motivated. Don't start exercising a lot more AND drop your calories, or you'll kill your metabolism. Kick butt!
